If I had a fils for every time I’ve heard the question ‘what should we do this weekend?’ or even typed it into Google myself, I’d be - well not exactly rich - but I’d have a lot of coins. These days, that same search includes ‘during COVID-19’ which unfortunately narrows that list down a little. But finally, many of our favorite spots are BACK, with new rules of course. There’s also plenty of new and wonderful places which I have yet to discover in the emirates. Below is a list of different than the usual activities that I’ve tried, tested, and found to be absolute fun. Make sure to check back as I will be updating this list often to reflect the UAE as it reopens.
/ Take a painting workshop with @onlyart4you
/ Take a photo/video-graphy class with Gulf Photo Plus
/ Immerse yourself in 19-20th century revolutionary art at TODA
/ Saddle up and go horse riding at Al Jiyad Stables
/ Take a roadtrip to Fujairah and explore its rugged mountains and gorgeous beaches
/ Get your hands busy with paint, stencils, clay, and glue at a Mixed Media class taught by The Craft Window at The Workshop
/ Ditch the malls and make your way over to Global Village. A massive theme park with pavilions for many countries, different cuisines in every corner, rides for the brave, and music that will have you dancing all the way through.
/ Hike the gorgeous Al Rabi Mountain Trail and explore the city of Khorfakkan in Sharjah. Here’s a roadtrip guide I’ve put together.
/ Wander in Dubai’s Miracle Garden, home to giant size Disney characters, castles, clocks, and even an Emirates A380!
/ Get a sneak peek of Dubai’s Expo site @ The Sustainability Pavilion.
/ Visit the absolutely stunning House of Wisdom in Sharjah. A library which is inspired by the original in Baghdad, once a melting pot that attracted minds from far and wide.
