"I want people to really see my Dubai"

— The Telegraph

I cover the classics: How did all this get built? Is the sand original? With stories that'll stick.

We start in Old Dubai with burlap sacks of cardamom and saffron at the Spice Souk, shopkeepers who greet guests like neighbors, and the Gold Souk's glittering windows.

We'll hop on a wooden abra across Dubai Creek, then drop into a family-run Perfume Atelier where they'll craft a bespoke vial just for them — name on the label, memory in the bottle.

A light bite stop keeps them fueled without spoiling dinner. Then it's shoes off for a Jumeirah Mosque visit, with space for questions about faith, community, and daily rituals.

Name on the label, memory in the bottle.

By late afternoon, water calls: a private 60-minute Dubai Marina cruise with jaw-dropping skyline views and those famous man-made islands stretching along the coast.

We close at Souk Madinat Jumeirah where lanterns warm the canals and our abra ride serves front-row Burj Al Arab views. The day ends where you come in — join your parents at our final stop for an intimate dinner together.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the tour?
Roughly 3 hours of walking and eating, mostly eating. The pace is relaxed, with time between stops to digest and hear the stories behind each place.
How much food will there be?
A lot. This is not a 'sample a crumb and move on' situation. Plan to stop eating 5 hours prior.
Is the tour suitable for vegetarians?
Some stops have vegetarian options (falafel, dips, sweets, pantry items), but this tour leans heavily into meat-based Arab cuisine. If you're vegetarian, reach out before booking so we can assess if it's the right fit.
What's the dress code?
Casual and comfortable. Al Barsha is a residential neighborhood, not a tourist zone. Wear walking shoes and dress for the weather.
Is parking available?
Yes, street parking and paid lots are available throughout Al Barsha. Details will be shared in your confirmation email.
Is the tour metro-accessible?
Yes, Al Barsha is well-connected by metro and close to our last stop. We'll share the nearest station and walking directions in your confirmation.
Can I buy extra food or items during the tour?
Absolutely. At the pantry stop especially, many guests stock up on provisions. Any purchases beyond the included tastings are at your own cost.
Will I know the stops in advance?
No. Where's the fun in that? Trust the process. We've done the research, so you don't have to.
Is this tour suitable for kids?
Yes, but keep in mind portions are generous and flavors are bold. Adventurous eaters of all ages are welcome.
What's the change/cancellation policy?
Varies for group and private bookings. Full details appear at checkout and are outlined here.
